This is kind of a medley of three songs ... I find myself wishing that either of the first two parts should have been expanded to a full song. The actual song part is the weakest, I think.

"Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" was in the same vein of mini-suites. It's something the Beatles did on tracks like "A Day in the Life" and "I Want You/She's So Heavy" not to mention side 2 of Abbey Road.

I agree. I've always loved that opening sequence.

That song always reminds me of playing center-field in Little League. I can remember hearing it on the radio and then going out to play a game. That damn song was stuck in my head that whole day. Back then I could replay a song in my head like it was an IPOD. IPOD's make things easier for my brain these days. :)

Are you a fan of the John Fogerty song, Centerfield?

Actually prefer Band On The Run when I play centerfield. :)

But if you're on the run, you might crash into the right fielder.

Those multi-part, tempo-changing songs are one of the things I've always liked about McCartney.

The guy who added the horns had a hard time trying to get them to play that little intro to the "Band on the Run" section. It's completely out of tempo with anything that came before it. They really pulled it off, though. That's one bit that never sounds as strong live.

Huh, I figured they recorded each part of the "suite" completely separately!
