For anyone who's already purchased the Peter Gabriel remasters from a few years ago, is it worth hanging on to any of the previous CDs? I never had the complete solo catalogue, so from the early albums Peter Gabriel (2) was the obvious upgrade for me, but over the years I've been pretty satisfied with most of the subsequent CDs. Once you get up to So, I don't know how significantly different a remaster would sound, anyway...
Any thoughts?

The sound quality is good throughout. However, as one who hates revisionism, the So remaster bugs the hell out of me because the instrumental part of "Sledgehammer" is remixed (horns that weren't there before are now there), and "San Jacinto" on Security has an extra four bars in the middle of the song!

That's also the kind of info I was looking for, as I know Gabriel has a tendency to "tinker"... I need to find a good A-B comparison online somewhere.

The Plays Live remaster isn't complete, so if you'll want to hold on to the original two CD release to have all the songs.

Good point, Neal -- I actually picked up the remastered Japanese 2CD set in mini-LP packaging instead. It's not part of the "official" remastering campaign, but I do prefer the sound over that of my original Geffen CDs.
