Starting today the NY Times is $2 a day, Sunday will now be $5.00. Even the grey lady is feeling the pinch.

The Times never shoulda built itself that new skyscraper.

They're still gonna get my 2 bucks 'cause I can't go a day without the NY Times crossword puzzle.

I usually just get the Sunday edition and even that can be too much paper.

Is the crossword available online?

The crossword is available online, but it's one of the few things that isn't free. You have to get an online subscription.

I usually read the Times on my morning commute, and the Post on the way home, covering two radically different editorial viewpoints. I like it that way. :-D

I save time by just reading the Daily News...which for me falls dead center between the "paper of record" and what I consider the "NY Enquirer". It's also cheaper than the Times, and when the News did raise the price (of only the Saturday and Sunday editions leaving the weekday ones alone), the subscription rate stayed the same. I appreciate that lack of gouging.

I love the Daily News from growing up in Queens.

We get The Times delivered free at school so I haven't had to worry about cost, but I'm told that may soon end. If so,I'll probably still buy it and cut out The Post. I also buy Newsday, to keep up with the meager LI info, and USA Today, which gives me good music, movie and TV news. They also continue to post complete baseball statistics on Tuesdays, and give info on all MLB teams everyday.

I live near Dallas and have been having the International Edition delivered to my door for about 15 years, so I'm used to paying more. I pay about $56 a month as a subscriber for all 7 days.
