Woo-hoo! The catalogue continues! Although these two albums were mediocre, some great songs are on both. I personally have not heard either in so many years I can't wait to revisit these. What a fantastic job EMI did with UFO, Ultravox, Whitesnake, Jethro Tull, Magazine and MSG! Hope the same for Thomas Dolby!
Right now these are showing as $8.98 at AmazonUK. The date is for the UK releases-these will come out in the US, not sure which date.

Great news! One small note: the 8.98 price is in British Pounds - currently about $14.56 U.S.

Wow, what a nice suprise... I wouldnt have thought! Making Contact is not their best, but a fine record.

ok, I am a HUGE UFO fan, but have never owned Misdemeanor (I own everthing else they've done). For whatever reason I dismiss it. Anyone think I need to drop this thought process and pick this up?, or is my suspicion right that this is just not worth having...

thanks.

I know that-I don't have a pounds symbol on my keyboard!

I'd say, yes to "Misdemeanor". It's of it's time-very keyboardy, too much so in fact. Everyone was going for the Bon Jovi sound at this time and it shows. There are some good songs though and "This Time" briefly was a radio hit here in the US and "Night Run" (a great song) got MTV play.
The Atomik Tommy M was a a shredder but he's got some impressive guitar solos. And, hey, you've got Phil Mogg and Paul Raymond from the classic lineup as well. Plus, many of the US mixes are included as bonus tracks where they tried to fix the overkill on the keys. Also included is the rare cut "The Chase" which I've never heard.
The cover art is crap, but in high school I remember liking about half of this record. It wasn't classic UFO that's for damn sure, but it was an attempt at sounding like everybody else something the band never did in their classic years, so tread carefully.

Thanks IP. You made a great point by saying it's still Phil Mogg and Paul Raymond...my 2 alltime favorite parts of UFO (Schenker 3rd!). I'll give it a whirl

Alt+163 generates the pound sign on American keyboards. £££
