There's a kind of (In my opinion) hoax from a while back. Apparently, if you play the Dark Side Of The Moon CD, along with the Wizard Of Oz DVD, there's supposed to be some kind of synchronicity between the 2. I have watched it online at Youtube..I just don't see it. There is the lyric that goes "The lunatic is on the grass" right when the scarecrow is dancing on the lawn...but other than that I just don't see the correlation.



What do you guys think? Do some people have too much time on their hands? Or is there something to this?

Do you mute the film while watching it?

I watched it when Turner Classic Movies showed it with DSOTM on the alternate audio channel. Whether intentional or accidental, the number of things that sync up between the two is pretty fascinating. (Before watching, I think it's better to do some reading so you know in advance what to watch for. I know that, if I hadn't done that, I woudn't have caught all the things that sync up between the two.)

I often wonder how this connection was ever discovered in the frst place. Who came up with the idea of playing a movie and an LP simultanously to see if they sync up in any way? And what motivated that individual to try it? Drugs? Brilliance? Both?

Desperation? A bunch of friends of mine and I rented The Wall one day way back in the mid-'80s and we got a defective copy that had no sound. We couldn't find a copy of the album in the house, so we ended up playing Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell album. It was funny to see how much the two synched up.

the only thing i really remember about the sync-up was the start of XXXX when the movie XXXX in on the color of Oz

but then the cd ended before the movie did. i remember that, too.
