I remember a fun TV special a couple decades ago that focused on TV commercial food
preparation. It has stayed vividly in my mind: things like they added dish soap to a hot
cup of coffee to get a few frothy bubbles on the edge, used Elmer's glue to drop a few
"milk" splashes onto cereal flakes, etc... I forget what TV ice cream was made of, but it
had to be able to handle being under the hot lights for tens of minutes whatever it was.
BUT... I thought I had read a few years ago that truth in advertising laws now demanded
that commercials use real food. A recall another special where commercial makers were
looking through dozens and dozens of buns looking for exactly the right one--and then
they added seeds to it from another bun.
