Thank you Clint Eastwood for an amazing acting career. And may you continue to direct great movies while you can. Now I must go see Gran Torino in its premiere run.

He's become an icon on the level of John Wayne. Not to slight the young generation, but I don't think there are any iconic figures among the young actors, not on that level.

I enjoyed the hell out of Gran Torino. I remember when the movie was announced there were rumors that it was going to be another Dirty Harry movie.

The only Eastwood movie that I didn't enjoy was his first, Revenge of the Creature

My favorite Clint Eastwood film is "Dirty Harry", the first, the original, the best, by maverick director Don Siegel. They made at least four pictures together. I've got an original Japanese poster of "Dirty Harry" and an original UK quad poster of "Two Mules for Sister Sara", where Eastwood stars opposite Shirley MacLaine.

Okay, this is not the Japanese poster that I've got. Mine is a smaller poster with a different design. I do remember seeing this poster in Tokyo, but I was too stingy to buy it. I believe it cost about $100-150 at the time. Now it's going for $900.

If I had $900 to spare, I'd seriously consider buying it.

I must share with you the US poster of "The Gauntlet", painted by the greatest comic artist ever, Frank Frazetta. Mine is the original UK quad, which I bought in London for £8 cheap.

Whose? The poster dealer's? I just regret not buying "Hatari!" and "All About Eve" UK quads when I had the chance.

That poster wasn't there when I orginally posted, somehow that awesome piece of Frazetta goodness cut in line.

I love the Gauntlet. I fought so hard for it in the tournament poll -- not sure if it was action flick tournament, Eastwood tournament, or what. It's awesome though.

Here it is. Yvonne started this great poll for Second Best Clint Eastwood lawman character, or something. I fought valiantly, some would say obnoxiously, but Gauntlet came in second to In the Line of Fire.

I'm a little leery of this thread. I don't want Clint to be jinxed and end up on Robbie's celebrity tally list.

I've loved Clint eastwood since i was, like 11 or 12. I was buying his posters when other girls were buying pop star pictures.

I've got a few more Japanese posters of Clint films - Heartbreak Ridge, Bird, The Unforgiven, Sudden Impact, maybe a few more.

No, they were too expensive for me.
