It's nice inking work. Patrick, but really limited by the habitual busy-ness of the original composition. Go all Terry Austin on this one and throw zipatone all over that cluttered wall so the characters pop.

I've got some duo-tone board I'll probably break out for something I do in the future

I must say Pat your technique continues to improve. Your line weights are really starting to shine. Looking more professional each day. Keep up the good work.

thanks

it's definitely a "practice makes perfect" type of skill. I do notice my better lines now and look at older stuff (like at the start of this thread) and feel like redoing it.

I feel your pain my friend. I look at some of those first colorings and want to delete them, but it's part of the growing process. Besides it can be inspiring to take a look at your old work, see how much you have improved and then think about how much better you can get.

Finally got around to finishing this one. I started laying it out about a year ago.
There's a little clean up still to do, things you notice after you think you're finished. I'll scan again after I get my computer working properly.

A few minor alterations to Cyclops (fist and boot tops) and to Vindicator's helmet.

updated the AF4 and UXM121 recreation scans with better ones, my pc is working again which allows me to use my A3 scanner. I also balanced the blacks in photoshop - it REALLY makes the AF4 one pop.

This is on duo tone board.

I used a piece of 242 (small line of duo shade) -- I think it would look better on a bigger line. It looks better in "color" since you can see the dark and light duo shade. It also looked better in my head than on the page.

Trial and error, I guess.

Looks good, Pat! I love the smoke. How did you get a piece of Duo-tone these days?

finding the board is (or was) easy about a year ago -- finding the developer was a fucking bitch.

Wow. I had no idea the duo-tone version was yours. Excellent work (and a definite improvement over the original).

You have more fans. People look and like stuff, they just don't always post.
