Wonder Woman (George Perez)- In the wake of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, it was decided to reboot Wonder Woman from scratch, and the man who took up the challenge was Titans and Crisis artist George Perez. Working as plotter and artist first, with Len Wein scripting, he brought a modern sensibility to the character, yet also drew heavily from the character's mythical origins. Eventually Perez took over scripting as well, and the book became a centerpiece of the DCU for several years. Attachment: match17.jpg Animal Man (Grant Morrison)- This wild revival of an old DC character was one of the most critically acclaimed series of the late 80s. Morrison, along with artists Chas Truog and Brian Bolland, created a wild trip through the DCU with an everyman hero confronting the strange and contradictory nature of the world around him. Eventually Animal Man discovered his own nature as a fictional character and confronting his "creator," Morrison himself. Bizarre? Yeah, but strangely addictive and compelling as well; and frankly, an exceptional comic book. Attachment: match18.jpg

Animal Man.

Wonder Woman. Both runs are good, but I like the character of WW better.

Wondy got my vote. I've never read Animal Man, but read the odd issue of Perez's Wonder Woman years ago and liked it.

Animal Man. It's probably one of the first "grown up" superhero books I read, and I didn't really know what to make of it at the time, but it's the reason I'm a fan of the character.

Animal Man gets my vote - It is amazing how Morrison's run works as a whole, this was a series I wanted to reread immediately when I got to the final issue of his run. The "I can see you" page is still one of my favorite comic reading moments. Even the Charles Truog artwork, which I at first thought was too cartoony, works perfectly for the story being told. This was a series where truly anything could happen. WW had some fantastic art, and some of my all time favorite covers, but I can't remember the specifics of a single tale when I think back on it now.

Bumped. We lost about a day, but there's still time to vote on this one.
