Suicide Squad- This fantastic series from the pen of John Ostrander revamped an old DC title from the 1950s, taking the concept in a new direction in which the government employed supervillains to perform "suicide" missions. If they survived, they could earn pardons. They were teamed with "damaged" characters like Bronze Tiger and Nightshade and led by Rick Flag, who carried his own share of pain. Mixing high-octane action with psychological character studies, this acclaimed series went where no series had dared before, living up to its name as the team whose every adventure was somebody's last.



The New Teen Titans- It can be argued that this series re-energized the entire DC line, as its success led to line -wide changes in storytelling, style, and art. Plus, in some ways it led to the biggest change in the history of DC Comics; Crisis on Infinite Earths. Wolfman and Perez combined old characters and new, told stories of incredible action and drama, yet still made their characters real, letting the readers share in both their joys and sorrows. In many ways, this series represents superhero team comics at its best.

New Teen Titans FTW!

Yeah, I think this one is gonna be another blowout. Squad had some nice issues and arcs by Ostrander, and I like the character of Father Kraemer, but the art was never more than serviceable. TT on the other hand is just an amazing run, Smart, sexy, fun, exciting, fast-paced, and beautifully illustrated, it really fired on all cylinders for multiple years. Definitely a high point for DC.

I'll have you know that I've voted in all of the polls thus far; and in each poll, I have not read at least one of the runs competing.

I really enjoyed the first four years or so of Suicide Squad, but New Teen Titans was far and away the better complete package.

I'll pick the Titans, but in the interest of full disclosure, I've only read one issue of Suicide Squad, and that was because it was a crossover with Justice League International.

Still almost a whole day for Suicide Squad to attempt a comeback.
