Oct 28, 2008
Wilco have finished recording demos for the follow-up album to last year's 'Sky Blue Sky'.
The group now plan to start working on the tracks and fleshing them out in their Chicago studio this month.
Guitarist Nels Cline told Rolling Stone: "Sonically it’s going to be a much wilder, much more unexpected record."
Cline added they had plenty of options for the final tracklisting.
He stated: "There’s going to be too much to choose from, right now it’s an embarrassment of riches, for sure."
 1. Wilco (The Song) 2. Deeper Down 3. One Wing 4. Bull Black Nova 5. You And I 6. You Never Know 7. Country Disappeared 8. Solitaire 9. I'll Fight 10. Sunny Feeling 11. Everlasting Everything http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029358GM/?tag=imwan-20

A new Wilco album..............LOVE IT. I liked "Sky Blue Sky" but not as much as "A Ghost Is Born". "Being There" is Wilco's "Exile On Main Street". M.

At first, I wasn't sure about Sky Blue Sky, but now I love it. I really like all of them though, and I appreciate how different each record is. I've also been collecting their live shows in recent months, and they are an excellent live band. Can't wait to hear the new one.

Can't wait for the new album. I Wander what Wilco The Song will sound like? I hope they come somewhere near Cincy during the summer tour. Last time I saw them was at the Ryman in Nashville in (I think) '07. Not the one that is on the new DVD, but the year before that.
Go, WILCO, Go!

Mine too. i've been checking setlists of shows posted on the Dime, and I'm surprised that they haven't been playing new songs on the current tour. My guess is that they are promoting the DVD now, and that they'll start pushing the new record when it comes out. I have tickets for the Lowell, Mass. show in July and I'm really looking forward to it.

FYI, a good source for Wilco setlists is:
wilcobase.com
No downloading or anything there, but a wealth of information.

P.S. The new album is called...... Wilco (the album). Now, the smartass in me wants to make comments about that - brought to you by Wilco (the website), soon to be coming to your town on Wilco (the tour), sponsered by Wilco (the beverage).
But I won't.
Wait, I just did!
Sorry (Wilco [the apology]) DW
PSS, thanks for the heads up on viachicago, Smiff!

No downloading or anything there, but a wealth of information. Thanks for the link to the site. One of the cool features, for an obsessive, is the pie chart indicating percentage of songs they play from each album at each concert.

PSS, thanks for the heads up on viachicago, Smiff! My pleasure, and thank you for wilcobase link.. I can't wait to catch Wilco, (the concert). It's an outdoor show at a single A baseball stadium. They are even offering an all-you-can-eat Wilco (the BBQ).

I'm excited that they are playing 4 shows in Los Angeles in June. It will be a Wilco feast for me.

I think this is the cover for the new album.

The album has leaked and is all over the Internet. I'm downloading it now (but will buy it, of course, when it is released). I found it by going onto Twitter search and typing in Wilco.

Quote: Well, we made it nearly a month with copies of Wilco (the album) floating around out there before it leaked. Pretty impressive restraint in this day and age. But the inevitable happened last night. Since we know you're curious and probably have better things to do than scour the internet for a download (though we do understand the attraction of the illicit), we've posted a stream of the full album at http://wilcoworld.net/records/thealbum/ . Feel free to refer to it as "wilco (the stream)" if you must. We also have our usual guilt abatement plan for downloaders. If you have downloaded the record, we suggest you make a donation to one of the band's favorite charities, the Inspiration Corporation -- an organization we've supported in the past & who are doing great work in the city of Chicago. Information and donation button here: http://inspirationcorp.org/. That's all. Enjoy the stream. Tickets for summer shows, etc. http://wilcoworld.net/tours/ Note that we'll be holding a free online midnight screening of the "Ashes of American Flags" film this Friday night (at both midnight US Central time and again at midnight Pacific). So get the popcorn or whatever together and be sure to log on and tune in on Friday. Wilco HQ http://preorderwilcothealbum.kungfustore.com/
