The Claremont/Paul Smith X-Men were almost as great as the Claremont/Byrne X-Men, theClaremont/Cockrum X-Men, the Claremont/Davis X-Men and the Claremont/Silvestri X-Men.

ROM - Spaceknight (all of it)

The Micronauts (all of this, too)

Ron Frenz/Tom DeFalco Thor

John Byrne's Fantastic Four

Fallen Angels (New Mutants mini that I loved)

John Byrne's Hulk run (short as it was)

John Byrne's Namor

X-Factor (the first version, with the proper X-Men in it)

The Eternals (the twelve-issue mini series from the 80's - can't recall who wrote it, but Sal Buscema drew it)

I'm sure I'll think of more :)

Monk: Agreed on Busiek's Untold Spidey and T-Bolts!

Doot: CoC is a fave of mine but three issues isn't enough. I think this is for runs of at least 10-12 issues.

I also liked that Ka-Zar series that Andy Kubert drew, although I've only read a handful of issues.

I was just making a joke on the thread title. "Marvel's best tournament."

I'm probably going to be a little fuzzy on the dates (and I'm too lazy to check) but I'll add Priest's Black Panther and the Busiek/Perez Avengers to the list.
