Very good idea.
Modern effects and a slightly better story would be a lot of fun.
One of my favorite movies as a kid.

Harryhausen supports remaking Titans. He's also working with people writing comic book sequels of his films, colorizing the old black and white ones, and generally is just a forward looking guy. He doesn't like CGI though, so if they were to remake this with his blessing, it wouldn't be CGI I don't think.

They remake is being made... with The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier.
I was kinda hoping Peter Jackson would do the remake, but this is good so far.

I thought that they were remaking the movie 2010 with Harry Hamlin as Dr. Floyd and the mechanical owl as Hal.

I'd welcome a remake of this - I love that old movie, and have fond memories of it. With CGI, this would look great and could be lots of fun.
