This is the new best-of fans have been waiting for-and it's packed with everything that should be on here from the Midge Ure era. The DVD is the real kicker with all those amazing 80s music videos that were all over MTV including the stunning "Vienna" Another excellent release from EMI and the next remasters should be out soon as the reunion tour begins this month!

Special Edition 2 disc CD/DVD (PAL/Region 0) package. Collating 18 tracks with 17 videos, this is the first time everything has been available together and is released to coincide with the bands 2009 UK tour. Boy, they recorded some great singles. Gotta have this one for the DVD alone.

Yeah, this is really the motherlode for the casual and the diehard fan-a number of these videos were not on the original "The Collection" release from 1985 including the first appearance of the video from 1986.
There's a boxset in the works as well supposedly, and the further remasters (the ones so far have been awesome for "Vienna", "Rage In Eden", "Quartet" and "Monument:The Soundtrack"), and a live CD/DVD from the reunion tour soon. All the remasters have been 2CD sets except "Monument" which was a mini-live LP-that now adds one song and the first-ever release of that video on DVD.
One question about the DVD portion of this new best-of: PAL Region zero means it's OK for our players, correct?

The back art on the Amazon.co.uk site appears to have an "E = Exempt from classification" logo, so I assume the DVD will play just fine in the U.S.

Heads up-this is only $10.95 at Tower.com as a pre-order including both CD/DVD. Even though they can be slow on shipping, their prices are very hard to beat especially on this.

"Vienna" was one of the first music videos I ever saw. It probably spoiled me a bit and led to disappointment when I started seeing other band's offerings.

"Vienna" is possibly my all-time favorite video. When they had the old MTV VJs on MTV in the late 90's the late, great JJ Jackson picked this as his favorite! It was directed by Russell Mulcahey who did so many great videos. It's so damn gothic and over-dramatic and slightly pretentious-I love it! Of course, it helps that the song is amazing too.
I should have this collection by next week. Kym-what's wrong with the video quality-are these direct transfers from VHS? I hope not.

I don't think it's a transfer from VHS. It just looks like they didn't bother remastering the video. For example, the beginning of "Vienna" has some dirt and scratches, and the beginning of "Reap The Wild Wind" has tape noise at the bottom of the image.
