A couple of them....

1. According to my sources, WB is out to Kevin Spacey for Lex Luthor.

2. According to Dark Horizons, Rob Lowe is being considered for IRON MAN, which will be produced by the same people bringing us FF. In other words... uh oh.

Rob Lowe as Tony Stark....well....he can handle the womanizing aspect of the character but that is about it.

This is the only Moore comic I can see working well as a movie with minimal changes. They could work directly off Lloyd's panels as storyboards.

BTW, David Lloyd is looking for work...

I do fear for the success of a Hollywood movie with a terrorist blowing up government buildings as the central protagonist. Mind you, the Wachowskis managed to skirt round that well enough with the Matrix...

I heard the Wachowski Bros have been working on starting their own comic book company. What's up with that?

Upcoming movie and TV projects:

Marvel-
Slated for release in 2006 are: 'X-Men 3', 'Iron Man', 'Ghost Rider', 'Luke Cage',
'The Punisher 2' and 'Deathlok'.

2007 could see: 'Spider-Man 3', 'Namor', 'The Hulk 2' and 'Wolverine'.

Animated direct-to-video features that are part of the Lion's Gate agreement
include: 'The Avengers', 'Iron Man' and 'The Hulk'.

DC-
'Superman' star Brandon Routh has signed a 3 picture deal with Warner Brothers.
This will involve at least 2 Superman films with a Batman/Superman film possibly

Yep, Burlyman Enteratinment. The first two titles are DOC FRANKENSTEIN by the boys and Steve Skroce. The second is SHAOLIN COWBOY by Geof Darrow.

I alerted my company to this a loooooooong time ago and we met with the co-founder of the company. I've read the first issue of DOC FRANKENSTEIN and it's really cool.

This is an interesting thread looking back. I think we should keep it going so in a few years we can look back and see what might have been.

Sadly, this forum was not around during the "Bill Murray as Batman" debates of the late 80's.

I would have enjoyed a Bill Murray Batman, but it could have really taken a wrecking ball to public perception of the character.

The public perception at the time was that Batman was the Adam West version. So it would've prolonged that vision of Batman. I'm not a fan of the Burton movies, but they did give closure to the West and Ward series and opened the possibilities for non-camp Batman franchises.

I'm afraid that Murray wouldn't have been straddled the line between kid's show and camp as Adam West did. He could've just been a straight-up comedic Batman.

Yeah, that is what I meant. It would have helped to cement the West/Ward vision of Batman and we might have never seen a good Batman movie.

Burton paved the way for a serious take on the character, Schumacher undid that goodwill, then Nolan finally made a really good Bat-flick (for the record I enjoy 4 out of the 5 pre-Nolan Bat-flicks to varying degrees).

The best thing about Burton's movies is that they gave us the Batman Animated Series.

I will definitely agree with you there. I do have a soft spot for Batman Returns.
