Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire.

This is something the comedy channel started playing on Thursday nights. I think it'll be 30-minute episodes once a week, but I'm not sure about that yet.

It's a spoof, tongue-in-cheek, parody, etc. of sword and sorcery type epic adventures. I just watched the first hour (introductory hour) and laughed my ass off. If it keeps up this energy, I highly recommend watching it.

It had some good moments. Some of it was rather predictable, or stereotypical, but there was a solid, laugh-out-loud
moment in there for me every five minutes or so. (You know, stuff like "horse raping," ...)

I will certainly watch more episodes. It'll be good for you, I suspect, if you ever played any D&D or like that sort of
fantasy stuff/fantasy setting that also uses (anachronistically) modern terminology.

Sweet! My D&D/Fantasy spoof in the style of Comedy Central void is now filled.

Hmmmm, I may try to catch the first two on my DVR, but it's filling fast with all the crap we miss because the GF is STILL working on costuming for Scarborough(and it started last week).

The recent movie Role Models had a hilarious running parody of the whole sword & sorcery role-playing scene.

Comedy Central is playing this show on Saturday 6 p.m. central, too, and maybe other times - I haven't checked, but there are probably several times one might catch this.

They are replaying the first two half hour episodes quite a bit this week. Unfortunately, I've already noticed several deleted scenes from the first airing when it was packaged as a one-hour episode. Weird. I'm not talking about one or two things, but three, four, or more scenes they saw fit to cut out and replace with more commercial time. All told, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut out as much as 4 minutes of material. Jerks.

It seems the regular Thursday-night airing will be one half-hour episode and not two.

I was looking forward to this. Watching it, I thought that more often than not, the jokes were abominably cliched and hamfisted -- especially the moronic gay and black jokes. I enjoyed a few funny bits, but they were floating in a sea of bad. But dear sweet Jesus, India de Beaufort as Aneka is insanely gorgeous. I almost never find myself saying stuff like this, but I may have to turn the show on just to look at her.

I watched this show for the first time tonight and i haven't laughed so much in years. I literally had tears in my eyes and i about peed my pants a few times. I do think you have to have a particular sense of humor to enjoy it though. At least check it out, see what what you think.

Yeah, you have to have the right sort of sense of humor or gaming experience to derive maximum humor from this. Seems likely the writers played D&D or other games, and that sort of humor naturally arises (though the characters don't always actually say such things so much as the players jokingly suggest them).

Anyway, I think it's pretty darn funny and not just a few items floating in a sea of bad. But what the hell are they thinking cutting the episodes up so badly like that? There are whole scenes missing in the edited versions. At least those SOB's should have full versions on-line after their initial airings, or the edited scenes. It's sad to know they took out laughs and put in overly long commercial breaks instead. Morons. Doubtless it'll improve DVD sales should they come to pass.

I reserve judgement, as of yet. Wizards and warriors was pretty darn good, with much more subtle humor. I recall bowman treacher (Archer Treacher), and the warrior with his ass literally in a sling, and other such jokes. Great humor. Vector and Blackpool, always amusing. The second episode of Krod should tell us more. Here's hoping.

Just got around to watching the first episode of this.

It was fun. Made me chuckle a couple of times.

The guy from Little Britian is the best thing in the show.

Damn it! Just a laugh or two this episode, and at less than half an hour, over too quickly. (It tastes funny. And such small portions, too). Yeah, yeah. It'll have to pick up, but if the 2nd episode isn't still great :ohno:

The best thing about the show tonight is that while watching it I didn't see the
Toronto Blue Jays score seven runs in the top of the seventh inning in their
9 to 2 victory over the Twins.

Yeah. That Twins inning would have been painful to watch. And, while I can only remember
laughing once at Kröd Mändoon, chuckling once, and smiling maybe twice, the best thing WAS
not seeing that blow-out inning.

Rather disappointing as I laughed quite a bit at the first extended showing of Kröd.
