YAY! I've heard solo recordings from the last couple years & will look forward to this.

Cockburn tends to be tremendous live, both solo & with a band. Unfortunately, in my opinion his only officially released live cd that's truly representative of the high quality of his shows is Circles in The Stream. The cd just called "Live" is probably the worst Cockburn show I've ever heard (between going to shows & various collector's recordings I've probably heard 25-30 BC shows) , & the You Pay Your.... ep while better then "Live" is still not up to his usual live standards.

There are also a couple live official promos worth picking up if you can find them:
Anything Anytime Anywhere (Limited Borders 2 cd set with Live World Café cd)
& At Etown (Official Promo only CDR) This came with one of his 2000 decade official cd's, but I don't remember which one anymore.

He also has official live recordings on both of the Columbia Records Radio Hour cd's & on numerous radio station live in the studio cd's.

It's been a while since we've had a new Cockburn release! I hope this is a prelude to a new studio album!!

You are right about that Remy. I've been a fan since 1985, and I've seen him about 15 times. He is a wonderful performer and songwriter. I've also had the pleasure of meeting him twice--in 1985 and 2007--and he is as nice a man as you would like to meet.

I met him once briefly in the 70's. We had acquaintances in common in Vancouver, & one time I missed staying in the same house with Bruce by one day..

I'm about halfway through my first listen, and this is a wonderful record. The solo setting really demonstrates his great guitar playing and songwriting. This is a necessity for any BC fan.

Mine just came in the mail today, & it's going straight on the cd player.

Bill, I noticed in the liner notes, several of the shows were in Massachusetts. How many did you go to?

Not one, I'm ashamed to say. Having a one year old and a two year old cuts into concert time. :(

I'm up to track 6 & initial impression is this is a gorgeous set. My only negative is it sounds like Bruce either had a cold, or in his 60's (I believe) he's starting to lose his voice. I've never heard his voice crack & miss notes like this.
I hope it's something temporary.

Still a wonderful set so far, & a great price for a full 2 cd's.

I'm about 1/2 way through cd 2, & BC's voice seems to have greatly improved as the cd's go on. I then assume (& HOPE) that he had a cold or some similar problem on a few of the recordings. I last saw him in late 2006 & his voice was awesome on that tour. That said, since they mention they recorded a number of shows. I'm a little surprised BC chose to use some recordings with his voice trashed.

Nonetheless, I would say this is easily his 2nd best official (i.e. non bootleg, non promo) live album after the amazing Circles in the Stream. This is good stuff!
