Can anyone confirm that Before The Flood, New Morning and Basement Tapes are coming on March 31?

Everyone that I've spoken to is insisting that these are not remasters just reissues. I hope they're wrong.

Frankly, I was hoping we would see the complete and unadulterated Basement Tapes in the near future. A reissue would signal that such a thing is even less likely than I imagined.

New Morning was one of the worst sounding of his initial CDs.....would be disappointing if it isn't remastered. It might be his most underrated album.

What the Basement Tapes desparately needs is a Bootleg Series release - round up all the Dylan originals in unadulterated stereo (minus the 1975 overdubs ), with some choice alternate takes & a selection of the best cover versions. The Tree With Roots boot does a very good job of collecting ALL the circulating songs on 4 discs but, with judicious pruning of some of the incomplete odds'n'sods, a superb 2 or 3 disc set could be put together officially. And then for God's sake put the 1975 release to bed forever. Completely agree with the other post about New Morning - what a hideously flat CD that is at present.

Agreed- Why don't they just complete the remaining reissues and be done with it.

I would love remastered versions of Shot Of Love and Saved, not to mention Hard Rain (maybe an expanded edition).

"Hard Rain" is one of my personal favorite Live albums. It could use a good remastering.

Amazon also has all three listed for 3/31 but no information about remastering or anything else.

SONY abandoned the SACD format in late 2006. All Sony SACD discs were recalled and retailers were asked to send existing stock back for credit. No way will any further Dylan (or any SONY) releases be SACD.

I always liked "Infidels"-has that one been remastered yet? I'm only a casual Dylan fan so I'm not sure.

Of Dylan's 80's albums, I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that "Infidels" and "Oh Mercy" have been the only ones remastered. The studio sessions for "Infidels" have been heavily bootlegged, which brings up the age-old debate: should the remasters have included such outtakes as "Blind Willie McTell" as bonus tracks? Or the live version of "Jokerman" from "Late Night With David Letterman"? The answer is, of course, that they didn't, but still...bonus tracks like that would have turned a pretty good album into an awesome remaster/deluxe edition.

I then looked it up on Amazon by SKU to see if it was out of print. As of 2 days ago, Amazon was selling the SACD hybrid of Bringing It All Back Home. I believe their price was $13.98.

OK, agreed, it's quite possible that some retailers, including Amazon still have stock on some of these. Point is SONY has long abandoned the format. No new SACD discs have been issued for several years and they are not repressing any of the older titles. Whatever is still out there in the pipeline is all there is.

It would be nice if MoFi or Audio Fidelity would license the un-released 5.1 mixes that were made for the Steely Dan and Elton John catalogs as well as the remaining Dylan albums and put out SACD discs instead of these snake oil Gold discs of albums that are on their umpteenth remastering.

I'm not so convinced that the last round of remasters from back in 2004 do sound great,or as the blurb on the small gold sticker on the front says "spectacularly remastered".They might sound perfect to the point of being clinical.I still think many of the original Columbias sound better.

The remaster of Street Legal was a big improvement.

The remaster made a difference on Street Legal for sure, but the real improvement you're hearing is because they actually remixed the album as well for the 1999 reissue. That made a huge difference. It's one of his most overlooked albums in my opinion. "Where Are You Tonight? (Journey Through Dark Heat)" is one of my all time favorite Dylan songs. "If you don't believe there's a price, for this sweet paradise, just remind me to show you the scars."

The Band cut a nice version of "Blind Willie McTell" on one of their later albums. Are Levon Helm and Robbie Robertson the only surviving members of The Band? Sad.
