It's ridiculous that you're not playing Rock Band. Do you have something against fun? It's clear that you do. You obviously don't like fun.

Oh, don't give me that "why not just play real instruments?" line. That's an ignorant statement. I do play real instruments. Yes, I can pick up a guitar and play many of those songs. Rock Band isn't about that. Is that so hard to understand?

Can you throw together a setlist of party favorites and have everyone excited and playing together and singing and switching back and forth between "instruments" and having a great time?

No, you cannot. Because you are a sad little person who does not enjoy fun. It's no wonder why no one likes you.

Because my hand-eye coordination combined with my lack of rhythm = crap.

This is true. And I've been roped into being the singer on a number of occasions.

I have a friend that is a musician who was pretty against Guitar Hero. At Christmas, he gave in and played Rock Band. He said it was the most fun thing he's done in a long time.

That has been my experience with just about every musician I know. They scoff, roll their eyes, shake their head in shame.

And then they play and have a blast.

A buddy and his family were over this weekend. He played bass in a band I used to have. I was urging us to play Rock Band, and he kept saying, "Why when we could just play for real?"

Needless to say, a few Rock Band songs with everyone later and he was loving it. It's an absurd amount of fun.

Because we don't have a gaming system.

We own both Rock Band and GH III, for the kids and my wife to play. I never liked Simon (the game, not the poster. ). To me, GH, Rock Band, etc, are just glorified versions of same. If I want to hear songs I like, I'll hit the PC and make a playlist.

All that said, we're having company over Saturday night and their intent is to play Rock Band on the Wii all night.

Nice thing about Rock Band 2 is that you an import all the songs from Rock Band into it. Effectively doubles your songs in an instant.
