So, who owns the Firefall name these days? I remember more than 2 guys being in the band.

The Smithereens, Dwight Twilley, Andrew Gold. This is becoming quite the cottage industry.

..not to mention Jason Falkner, under the guise of lullabies, with his Bedtime With the Beatles CDs.

I don't know who owns the Firefall name, although Jock Bartley is the only person to be in all versions of the band.

Firefall often gets booked for package shows with Poco and/or Pure Prairie League.

The Firefall Web site's discography has this Beatles album as from a separate sub-entity of the band: Firefall Acoustic.

Here's a link to their official Web site.

There are short audio samples at Amazon's listing page, if that helps ...

Geff, "Elan" is my favorite Firefall album, with "Strange Way." Give it a listen if you haven't already.

their first 3 are quite good.

the bonus tracks on the CD's are also very good, not just filler. if you can find them cheap, give them a try. i think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

renny

p.s the guy on the right almost looks like rick roberts, if that is he and jock barley it might be worth a shot.

He's not. although he's filled that slot in the band for the last 12 years, according to their Web site. His name is Steven Weinmeister.

Jock put together a reunion show this past summer with all past and present Firefallers. Here's a quote he gave Mark Brown of the Rocky Mountain News for an article in support of the concert:

"For the longest time, I really wanted to try to do a reunion gig. Rick was never in shape enough to be able to do it. I really just said, "Well, it can't be a reunion without Rick." His health has been fragile for a really long time. . . . Last fall I realized that if we were going to wait for Rick to get into good health to do something for all of us, we'd be waiting a really, really long time."

Here's a link to the article:

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2 ... the-ashes/

According to the Wikipedia article, Rick was in the audience, but too ill to perform.

that's sad to hear about rick roberts,. his 2 solo albums are true undiscovered, and for the most part unheard, gems.

The precursor to this reunion show was four members joining Dan Fogelberg on stage to perform a Firefall song in 2002 at Red Rocks in Colorado. Mark Andes was Dan's bass player on that tour and they normally played a Firefall song each night which Mark sang. I have a boot of the RedRocks show and another one that I recorded from that tour.

Yes, I agree. I've long wondered what had happened to Rick. I loved those two solo albums and always wished he'd done more.

How is DF's voice on your 2002 shows? Can he still hit the high notes at that point?

The guy on the right is Jock Bartley. The other guy Is Steven Wienmiester.
There's supposed to be a dvd coming out of last years reunion show featuring all current
and past Firefall lineups sans original drummer Mickael Clarke who passed away. Rick
Roberts is still alive but in poor health; he was at the reunion show but did not perform.

peace,
joebase

If I recall correctly, it was very good. It's been a few years since I listened to it. If you want to PM me, I'll send you a copy.
