So now that New Year's is almost virtually here, how was your Christmas? Did you spend it with friends and relatives? Did you get what you were hoping for? Have a funny story to tell? Share it here if you like.
:-D

For me, personally, the best Christmas gift of all was celebrating Christmas with my sister, Christine. We're so close and we both have a lot in common. We both write songs and play guitar (She plays electric, I play acoustic) and we're both big on being on the net. I will tell you, however, that she hates broccoli.

The best thing of all was that I decided to make up my mind and do something that is so unbelievably huge...I'm going to try to write a novel... a real book!

Hopefully, it will turn out well, and my sister and I can use the royalty money to fund our band... the ET Mimickers.
:-D

So how was your Christmas? :-D

My Christmas was fine, Francine, thanks for asking.

I went to a couple of places Christmas Eve and stayed home on the day and had a nice, quiet day.

Ate some good food and got a plethora of gift cards, which is good. I also got The Dark Knight DVD and watched it.

You sound like you had a lot of fun and merriment with your family, which is really what it's all about. 8-)

I had steamed broccoli for part of my Christmas meal. Did you know that broccoli can reverse some heart damage caused by diabetes? It's going to have to be my favorite vegetable.

Anyway, it was a good day. I got to visit with one of my brothers and his family, my folks, one of my aunts, her mother and her daughters. We played dominoes and "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?".

Lots of fun!

I missed a question, and the fifth grade helper answered it for me. However, I won 1,000,000 virtual dollars 3 times that day. You decide.

I like broccoli, so that's good for me and my family of bad hearts.

It was okay, although I came down with a bad cold on Sunday before I flew down to the DC area on Tuesday to spend Christmas with family. Just got back today.

I had to do a lot of last minute Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve because of my cold slowing me down, but I managed to finish all my gift wrapping just before midnight.

My sister had her annual Christmas dinner party on Christmas night at her house which was way out in the woods of Maryland.

Last night, my brother and I went to see The Spirit and had a good time watching it.

well....

I don't have any blood family, so I was planning to visit my dearest friends. Unfortunately they came down with a stomach bug shortly before I was due to go down, so that was cancelled. My house mate went home to his family, so I was in the house alone. The oven broke so all I had that I could cook was some emergency microwaveable maccaroni cheese, PLUS I had a bad headache all day which might have been caused by the tooth I chipped the day before. I also got cleaning fluid in my eye whilst cleaning the kitchen, which stung like crazy.

All in all, this was a better Christmas than last year, when I managed to tear a disc in my neck Christmas eve which took 9 months to heal (and still aches now and then).

I always have appalling luck around Christmas time for some reason!

I'm so sorry, Robert. That's terrible. I hope next year is better for you... :o

Thanks for sharing, though.
