Let's assume for a moment that because Superman is an alien, Sylar cannot absorb his powers.

How do you think the fight would go?

Thank goodness you don't write comic books, Kurt. They would all be 4-pagers.

Philosophical discussions with Superman, in orbit. He occasionally pauses and lets a little blast out down towards the Earth. As the reader, you're never sure why. He continues with his point.

Sylar gets Superman's attention by lifting a bystander with telekenisis and slowly begins to cut their head open. Superman begs him to stop and retreats in order to prevent any further violence.

Then he remembers that he's Superman and fries Sylar with heat vision.

That's good for another two pages.

Okay let's exclude all arguements that Superman would win "because he's Superman."

Is there an Obama metaphor that I'm missing? What exactly is your dog in this particular fight?

Well, I keep seeing Zachary Quinto vs Brandon Routh in my head. They look like they could be brothers.

I think it's a pretty good question.

In an acting competition, I think that Quinto would out-act Routh.

Routh would make a good Romulan (classic Romulan).

OK then....This.

Supes's Heat vision, and other sensory powers, AND his ungodly speed, are ALL underused in the comics.
Hell If I were Superman, I'd scope out the area with my telescopic vision, slice up the bad guy's's weapons with heat vision, and whip in there with superspeed and mess up the villain's plans every damn time.
I mean come on...
He's supposed to have a Super Mind right?
Why fly in, land, and walk up to the bad guys, and let them monalogue?
Zap them from orbit, and make it easy.

I know, I know, Not good storytelling, but some good common sense!
