Arcade Fire to release live DVD

Arcade Fire have fuelled rumours they are about to release a live DVD by launching a new website showing previously-unreleased live footage of the band - along with a cryptic message.

Fans who log onto the band's homepage today (December 11) are being directed to a page with the words 'Miroir Noir' - French for 'Black Mirror', also the name of the opening song from their 2007 album 'Neon Bible'.

A link then directs fans to http://www.miroir-noir.com, where they can watch a new video clip featuring the band.

Made up of various energetic live clips, the text 'Miroir Noir, Neon Bible Archives, Coming Soon' appears at the end of the video.

Fan site Us Kids Know reports that: "Miroir Noir will feature live footage from the 'Neon Bible' tour, filmed by Vincent Moon and directed by Vincent Morisset. Keep an eye on Miroir-noir.com for details."

Arcade Fire to release 'Miroir Noir' documentary on Monday (Dec 15)

Arcade Fire will release their new 70-minute documentary, 'Miroir Noir', on Monday (December 15).

The film documents the band through the making of their 2007 album 'Neon Bible' and subsequent tours. It also includes short films made on the road by the band.

The documentary is directed by Arcade Fire and Vincent Morisset, who was also responsible for the interactive video for 'Neon Bible'.

The deluxe edition DVD of 'Miroir Noir' features bonus material including Arcade Fire performances on TV shows such as Friday Night With Jonathan Ross and Saturday Night Live.

Both the digital and deluxe versions of the documentary will be available to order from http://www.miroir-noir.com on December 15 (with the digital version delivered instantly).

Miroir Noir is currently streaming for free on Pitchfork.tv (one week only). For fans it is an interesting watch. There is some cool stuff and lots of so-so. I was thinking about buying it previously, but will take a pass. I can view performances on YubTub.

That said, I am passionate about this band in a way I haven't been since the 80s.
