I'm considering a stupid thing i'll never be able to pull off: Listening to my entire music library from A-Z and doing brief reviews for all of it, in order, A-Z, over the course of a year. In order to keep it manageable the reviews would be brief, but the goal is to do everything. Most especially so I can listen to it all in a single calendar year.
I don't know if the math is with me, though. Many of those albums are EPs and the like, many shorter recordings in there, but still ... I'd have to be relentless. And to keep on task, I couldn't really listen to new music. I'd have to wait for new albums to come up in the alphabet or if I passed the letter already, wait until next year to get to it.
Anyway, I've been thinking about doing this for over a year now. If I start, I'd start on January 1.
I dunno.

I dunno. I say go for it, Eric. Maybe you can post some of your reviews on the forum, also.

Assuming an average of 45 minutes per album and that you didn't skip through them, you would spend approximately 8.25 hours per day over 365 days to listen to 4000 albums. Since that is less than the time you spend on imWAN per day, I say that it is indeed possible. Go for it.

I listen to music straight through the work day, after all. I can get 8+ hours of listening in a day. But what about weekends? I listen to music on the weekends, but not for eight hours a day. One skipped day means adding an hour to each of the next eight days to stay on pace. I'd really like to give this a try, maybe blogging each and every listen or something, but I don't want it to become a chore. I could slash out live performances, I guess, in order to cut down the time. Maybe cut out various artists compilations, too.

This sounds like self-imposed misery.
Why not just be picky and do one review a day of an album that deserves it?
Who's the audience for these reviews anyway?

How about an overview of each artist you have music for? (not including compilations and soundtracks)
