In case anyone besides Steve is going to be in Central Indiana next week...

Spider-Man writer Roger Stern will appear at the Castleton location of Downtown Comics -- 5767 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday, December 10, from 4:30 to 7:00pm -- to meet the public and sign copies of his new issue of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, as well as collections of his comic-book stories.

The author of the New York Times bestseller The Death and Life of Superman, Stern has written for radio, television, the stage, and the Internet, creating scripts for everything from commercials and sketch comedy to trading cards and flash–animation. With over thirty years of experience in the comic book industry, he has written hundreds of stories about such diverse characters as Superman, Green Lantern, and Starman for DC Comics; and Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, and Spider-Man for Marvel.

Stern's stories have been collected in dozens of editions, including Captain America: War & Remembrance, The Death and Return of Superman Omnibus, Darkman vs. Army of Darkness, Spider-Man Visionaries: Roger Stern, Volume 1, and JLA: That Was Now, This Is Then. He has also written several graphic novels -- including The Incredible Hulk vs. Superman, Doctor Strange & Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment, and Superman: A Nation Divided.

Stern's second prose novel, Smallville: Strange Visitors -- an original story based on the characters from the hit television series -- was published by Warner Books in 2002. His third prose novel, Superman: The Never-Ending Battle, was published by Pocket Books in 2005. An audio book adaptation of Superman: The Never-Ending Battle is currently available from Graphic Audio.

His other recent comics work includes GIANT-SIZE INCREDIBLE HULK and issues of THE ALL NEW ATOM and JLA CLASSIFIED, as well as THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and the upcoming MARVELS: EYE OF THE CAMERA.

A graduate of Indiana University, Stern was born in Noblesville, Indiana. He now lives and works in upstate New York with his wife, Carmela Merlo.

Downtown Comics is one of the largest comic book chains in the Midwest, with four locations serving greater Indianapolis. Voted the #1 comic book store in Indianapolis by NUVO, Downtown Comics carries a full line of new and used comic books, action figures, posters, and memorabilia related to comics and other media. For more information, check the store website at http://www.downtowncomics.com.

...latest in a series of news releases. Collect 'em all!
