Because it tasted so darned GOOD! :yum:

Now, however, I am regretting it. A little.

Got room for a slice of Pumpkin Cheesecake?

I got half of it left over, and I'm sure not going to eat it all.

Oh, that does sound good. It will be lovely for breakfast tomorrow with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese. :yum:

Have one for lunch as well.

I really don't need to eat this.

You can always share at work, but that would mean sharing all the stuff everyone else brings in. And since I work alone, it is really stupid for me to bring stuff in to share, 'cause then I just end up eating it anyway.

I actually behaved myself at dinner.

...but now, at 10:30, I am having a second helping of my MOTHER'S HOMEMADE PINEAPPLE BREAD PUDDING that she made for the FIRST TIME IN LIKE TEN YEARS because now I have ICE CREAM TO PUT ON TOP OF IT and it is EVERY BIT AS GOOD AS I REMEMBERED.

I just got through with another piece of pecan pie.

Here's my pie summary for today:

1. Took it a little bit easy on the turkey, to save room for pie.
2. Ate a piece of homemade pecan pie and a piece of homemade chocolate pie. (My mother is Martha Stewart II)
3. For late supper, ate one sliver of turkey, dipping it gravy. Saving room for pie.
4. Ate second piece of chocolate pie. Large piece.
5. Just now ate second piece of pecan pie.

I've eaten four large pieces of pie since 2:30.

That's what I usually do, but no work for me for awhile. Maybe.

Jay, you are the Pie Man!

I have only had 3 slivers - one each Key Lime, Chocolate Pecan and Pumpkin. We have about a quarter left of each, as we left a quarter behind with our hosts. I am sure we will be fighting over it. The Chocolate Pumpkin is particularly good. Hell, they are ALL GOOD!

My mother makes two whole chocolate pies because we are so pie-centric. The pecan pie is almost all mine.

My mother does the homemade pastry crust, with the little pinchy edges. It's becoming a lost art these days.

Mmmm... pie. We did not have pie. Which would make me sad, except that the bread pudding so very made up for it.

Bread pudding is honorary pie.

Is it of sufficient density and gooiness to not be confused with cake?

I don't have very good luck with crusts, but this one had ground almonds and lots of butter and worked for both the pecan and the pumpkin pies. I want to master the art of a truly fine pinched crust that isn't like cutting cardboard. Without lard. Because, I just can't do that.

Stephen - you have to share that bread pudding recipe.

Correct. The gooeyness gives it an exalted status above that of cake.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?

I had one fair-sized piece of blueberry pie with 2 generous scoops of strawberry ice cream on top.

"It's like you were there!" is almost up to IMWAN meme status.
