computer help, why wont nero burn my dvds anymore?

using nero 9, keep getting an error at the end of trying to burn a disc.the error log doesnt make it any clearer to me,can anyone help?

Just guessing, but I'd say there's something wrong with the disc drive that you're burning to.

Did you change out the burner in your computer recently? Did the copy of Nero come with the computer? Many times Nero is tied to the specific burner that it came with. You might try uninstalling Nero and then re-installing.

make sure that you have "determine maximum speed" checked and that you have "verify written data" unchecked.I seem to recall some peoples disks would fail with "verify" clicked on.
try to use a re-recorable dvd until you figure out your problem

im running windows XP.
i jusst downloaded a thing called burn my files, and it worked first time.id really like to get nero running again tho

Try contacting Nero support.
They may have a phone #, or an online data base.
Since you just bought it they should be able to help you under warranty.

i sent them an email yesterday with a copy of the error log . . .no reply as yet

Did you uninstall the older version of Nero before installing the new one? Sometimes the "upgrade" process of installing the newer version of a program over an older one, even though the installer says its fine to do, can cause problems. Nero uses ASPI drivers to send the data to the burner from what I remember, perhaps the ASPI drivers didn't get upgraded when the new version was installed. There is a link at the bottom of this wikipedia page to Nero's aspi driver. You might try downloading and installing it.

Lower the maximum speed and uncheck verify and see what happens. Also check for online updates.
