I have an idea that I've been thinking about. It's regarding the Mimickers Project that will take place one day in the future. To keep it simple, one day in the future several of the ET Teenage Mimickers (I am the Lead Representative) will be performing a Worldwide concert via video satellite from Mars. This will take place right after we have made ourselves known to all Earthlings. :ohyes:

My question is this: If it were possible to travel back in time and alter the course of history... would it be morally right to alter the course of a musical band or artist's personal lifeline, in order to prevent them from actually recording and performing their catalogue of hit songs? To change their history so that they do not ever become successful in the same way? In other words, it would be as though it never happened. If the Mimickers were to then take those songs and record them as their own... would that be fair game?

Or, should we the Mimickers simply invent our own songs and go with those? I must tell you that in the event we use our own songs, they will be of a religeous nature and faith based. As opposed to the artists we would "borrow" songs from which would be mainly secular in nature.

Btw, if we do alter the history of a given band's history, we will of course invite them to join the ET Teenage Mimickers and they would be welcome to perform their own songs as part of our group.

Please let me know what you all think of this. A lot is riding on this and I value your opinions.

Thanks. :D

Do you have point to make? I am serious about this and I'd appreciate an honest response. Thank you.

I would go back and take the Beatles success away from them, reveling in the knowledge that I'd saved us from decades of Ringo Starr smirking at everything in sight and also saving Paul and John's lives. ;)

I would go back to 1966 and buy several crates of Yesterday and Today with the butcher cover.

I see your point. But the band in question would be told about what was to happen and they would be in on it, Dave. :ohyes:

:ohyes: I hear you. I wish John Lennon were still with us. :(

Actually, the band I was thinking of is none other than Abba. They fit the bill. "Cheesy pop music that sounds like it came from the past, but actually belongs to the future." That's the Mimicker musical style, ideally. Or, Pop and Roll. :ohyes:

He doesn't appeal to a Worldwide mass audience. Although, he was brilliant and I really like many of his songs. Too bad about him. Also, he's dead. So we couldn't get his permission to do it. :ohno:

This thread is anti-rock and dead to me. No Cliff Burton or Kurt Cobain being brought back? :ohno: :x

You know, I've got some good Beatles LPs in solid shape. Checked an online price guide and fouind they guided between $250 and $550. All first pressing mono reelases.

But then I checked eBay and found that the same releases were selling for much, much less. More like $30-45.

Blah.

You're stealing from the timeline. That's going against God's will.

You're stealing from the timeline. That's going against God's will.

But this will be within God's will. You don't think this would happen with both His permission and help, do you? :D

As far as trying to upset the timeline outside of God's will... who would dare attempt such a thing? Not me, that's for sure.

If you get permission ......go ahead.
Just remember to put the timeline back the way you found it, when you're finished.

I'm sorry, I can't follow this timeline anymore. I had dreams of Metallica with Cliff Burton still alive and Nirvana recording more albums, but Francine has killed my dream...... :(

The only way you could possibly fix this is to go back and bring back Freddie Mercury, maybe then I'd consider it.
