Well, personally I'm inclined to believe he's not. But in 1959 Boots Rutman of Connecticut claimed that the Great Pumpkin appeared in his pumpkin patch. In 1960 R.W. Daniels of Texas made the same claim. Also in the early 1960s somebody named Freeman claimed to have seen him. That sighting was announced on the radio shortly after it occurred. So I guess the phenomenon can't be dismissed too readily.
