There needs to be more good science fiction on TV, movies and in comic books.

Among current TV series we got Battlestar Galactica and arguably Heroes and Terminator on TV. Movies? In the last five years? Uhh... Children of Men? Serenity?

Comics? Marvel's Annihilation was good. Planet Hulk was very SF. Indie stuff? Non-superhero? Ummm...

Who's with me?

You're missing Fear Agent. It's actually pretty good, but it's set-up more like 50's Sci-fi.

I have another Carter book to read, but haven't gotten around to it yet. However, had it been drawn by a Frank Cho or Art Adams in comic book form, you bet I would have by now.

Well, I haven't heard of any good novel SF since Forever War and Ender's Game. Enlighten me!

I really dug Stephen Baxter's Evolution. Can't go wrong with Alistair Reynolds or Ian M. Banks. Gardner Dozois' Years Best series is phenomenal, and he has two volumes of The Best of The Best. I'm pretty happy with Stephen Baxter & Arthur C. Clarke's Time Odyssey as well.

Like what? I'm not much of a gamer, but I do a lot of shifts at home now, so I have more time to play.

Mass Effect is the best Star Trek game ever made even though it's not an actual Star Trek game, Dead Space is a nice mixture of Event Horizon, Doom and John Carpenter's The Thing and is much fun, Gears of War is a fun shooting game set in a post-apocalyptic alien invaded Earth, and Fallout 3 comes out today which looks like an excellent post-apocalyptic barren Earth-type game.
Off the top of my head.

Oh, and all are available on the XBox 360, and I think all but Gears of War are on PC.

And BioShock. That is an excellent scifi one as well. Taft will back me up on most if not all of these that he's played.

Off the top of my head.

There's one big one you didn't mention:

Half Life

And all things related to Half Life.

I haven't played much Half Life (no system that they're on, gonna get a PC eventually though), but fantastic series worthy of recognition.

Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps. Surely they count?

There are some good newish anime series that help fill the gap a little, but you're right, we do need more.

Honestly, by now I would have thought we'd have seen a lot more shows influenced by BSG, but it hasn't really happened.

EDIT: And Nova and Guardians Of The Galaxy from Marvel. Both cosmic sci-fi, and both are absolutely at the top of their game.

EDIT2: Actually, thinking about it, I would class X-Men 1 and 2 as sci-fi films. Not the 3rd one though. 2 I would definitely count.
