There had better be some extras to entice the buyer as the Avenue Gold discs set a pretty high standard for sound quality.

8 CDs and no "Summer".

joelee, isn't it amazing that no matter how many cd's are in a GH package, they never put every song on it that you think should make it? I can't find a George Benson Gh collection or a Kinks collection that has all the songs I want. With Benson, I want the full-length version of "On Broadway" and most of his GH only have the much shorter single version. With the Kinks, all I want is a cd with You Really Got Me, All Day And All Of The Night, Lola and Destroyer. Good luck with that.

As far as I can tell this is not a compilation but simply eight of their albums boxed together. I guess "Summer" did not appear on any of these albums. A shame because that is probably my favorite War song.

You're right, "Summer" first appeared on WAR's "Greatest Hits" album in 1976. And this box set is only including the 'War', 'All Day Music', 'The World Is A Ghetto', 'Deliver The Word', 'Why Can't We Be Friends', 'Platinum Jazz', 'Outlaw' & 'Peace Sign' albums. If ever a band needed a true box set compilation containing all their hits and great album cuts, it's War.
