CDJapan's tracklist is messed up for the first album. Sony sent me the actual bonus tracks:
Quote:
11. Sunrise (live at the Roxy, LA 1976)
12. Slow down (live at the Bottom Line, NYC)
13. Go All The Way (live at the Bottom Line, NYC)
14. My Girl (Original Demo w. Backing Vocals)
15. Ambition (Original Piano Demo)
16. That's rock 'n' roll (Original Piano Demo)
17. All by Myself (Radio Edit)
I was at the Bottom Line gig, so listen for me yelling.
The "My Girl" demo is supposedly night-and-day different from the sugary finished version, which Eric was never happy with.
They've balanced the number of bonuses across the discs, but did it by putting some things out of sequence. There's a 1975 demo of "Change Of Heart" that I think should really have been put on the first album, not the album he eventually did a proper version of the song on. But, c'est la vie.
Also, the first album is called
Sunrise in Sony Japan's solicitation, after the leadoff track, not simply
Eric Carmen as it was in America.
Sunrise makes a fitting title for a debut (solo) album, so I wouldn't mind if that's printed on the jacket. (The pre-release image Sony sent out doesn't say
Sunrise, though, it looks exactly like the original USA cover.)
