I worked at a 1300 MegaWatt power plant back in the day. Lulu's got a whole lot of pedaling to do to replace a power plant, we're talking thousands of years worth, ha...

Bump: We have an image in the first post now, but I'm not convinced that this will be the final version of the cover.
Lulu has become obsessed with hats lately. Every photo of her from the past couple of months, she has a hat pulled down to her eyebrows like that. I think someWAN got a bad haircut.

Quote:
Lulu goes back to Decca 50 years on
LULU has signed a new deal with Decca Records, the company to which she first signed at the tender age of 15.
The forthcoming album 'Making Life Rhyme' is Lulu's first ever complete collection of self penned songs and marks a departure for the legendary singer/songwriter, capturing the artist during a period of huge change.
The album was recorded in London and features lyrics which are at once highly confessional, questioning and ultimately redemptive, written by an artist who recognizes that, 'I need a little peace but I never seem to find the space / having trouble getting to sleep cos the party is always at my place'.
The legendary singer, who has worked with artists as disparate as David Bowie, The Beach Boys, Bobby Womack, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Take That, Jools Holland, Arif Mardin, Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd and Barry Gibb will tour the UK this year. The tour opens on May 10 and includes a major London date at London's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on May 17.
Lulu said today: 'I'm really proud of this record. I've made a lot of records over the years but this one comes at a time in my life when I'm re evaluating everything. Life changes, people change, and this album sums up what I see as my place in the world at this time. For that reason it's especially gratifying to me that the album will appear on Decca, my first ever label'.
President of Decca Records Group, Dickon Stainer, comments: 'We are delighted to welcome such an iconic singer back to Decca, where she started her career'.

Lu is really stretching out the promo process here. Now there's a longer teaser for "Faith In You" which still isn't the final video proper. But if she posts them, we'll post them.

That's a nice little piece. I wouldn't call it a "miracle", but her recording a new album is certainly an unexpected pleasure. I hope she maintains this energy level and keeps that blues cover record in mind for down the road.

OK-this is a very good album, everything I could have hoped for. She sounds wonderful. There's a rougher edge to her voice, and she uses it well. Some of these tracks really rock. Really well done, and a pleasure to listen to.

Just played the 30 sec clips at Amazon mp3, they bee very good, varying in style and tempo. I wish there were 2 more songs to get the time up to 45 minutes. Maybe some bonus cuts will show up somewhere...
On several songs it sounds as though Lulu is channeling Tina Turner from 1984, well, they do have some history together...
