I know that Rock has been shown interacting with DC's superhero universe on a number of occasions...but he was originally supposed to be at least a somewhat realistic war comics character. Hard to see making a blockbuster with him that would make sense. I could see him appearing as a guest star in some DC cartoons.

The days of Rock being realistic are long gone. His last comic series was him versus zombies.

I think one of the things I enjoyed most about Sgt. Rock was how Kubert balanced the reality of the second world war and story telling for a young adult audience through the lens of the comics code. So much of the stylistic images in the comics might work in a movie setting, but I don't how you could connect those images together in a way that makes sense without showing the realities of war. Which isn't Sgt. Rock at that point.

I'd rather see it as a gritty, realistic war movie, along the lines of "Fury" that Brad Pitt made. I considered that one an honorary Sgt. Rock movie (although they were a tank company, not infantry).
I think there's an appetite for heroic WWII stuff. It could be a franchise, because Easy Company faced one challenge after another.
Sgt Rock Two: Ice Cream Soldier.
Sgt Rock Three: Bulldozer
