Can we now agree that Ohio State has the benefit of playing in a medium to strong conference (but by no means the strongest), and that their folding in the annual championship game is not a fluke?
My hope is that USC will make it all the way to getting beaten by an SEC team in the BCS Championship. As much as I hate USC, I'd rather have them in the championship game than to have to hear the media moan about how poor USC isn't allowed to play.

There are no college football fans here. This is the only thing that I miss at the JBF was the sports area (JB doesn't really post there).

I would love for my Georgia Bulldogs to beat USC in the National Championship Game. I'd be going for anyone in the SEC though, I think winning the SEC should give an automatic bid into the Championship.

Problem is, Georgia's not even going to the SEC Championship Game.
Tebow! Tebow! Tebow!
I love college football the mostest of all.

UF's not much changed from last year when we won. Neither are we. We should (should) win again. And what is it that announcers feel that they MUST say his entire name when referring to him? "Tim Tebow in the shotguun, Tim Tebow back to pass, Oh! Tim Tebow is keeping the ball, he's running, first down Tim Tebow!"

Even though Tim Tebow (!) had a hurt shoulder and was not himself, we scored on every possession where we really needed to in that game. But every time, we could not stop the Dawgs. That will change this year. We may or may not score 30 again, but I feel better that Georgia will not score 42 again. Our defense was like a paper sack last year, and it caused us to lose a lot of games.

We will see, Jay. Only one will win! Hopefully it will be us. In the meantime, I get to go to the game at Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday in which my beloved Dawgs come out to give the PAC10 a little preview of what the real SEC is all about!* I am bouncing off the walls with excitement!
*Tennessee blew it last year and this year. But, we expect that from them.

I'll be in Phoenix next week. Not for football though.
The SEC West gets thinned out this weekend. Tough road for the loser of LSU/Auburn.

I think that both defenses are practicing offensive drives.
If we're down by two in the fourth, look for us to start punting on second down.

The Valley is what everyone out here calls the Phoenix area. I think it makes them feel like L.A. If you have time I'd love to get together and have dinner or something.

I'll see how it maps out. I'm shuttling from the airport to the resort without a car.
If Georgia wins this weekend and LSU loses then all bets are off.

Fluke or not, the CU Buffaloes seem to be good at "giant" killing.

6 SEC teams in the Top 25 (Half of the conference). Three in the Top 5.
LSU moves up as the only team to beat a Top 10 team.
This won't last much longer as the SEC begins to beat up on each other.
Vanderbilt in the Top 25? Florida and Georgia had better be careful, or they'll miss out on the SEC Championship game again.

Saturday's game was perfect. The Sun Devils fans before the game were being their normal belligerent selves to us away fans. We had to walk past the student section twice and their taunts sucked this time. But, really, they had nothing to work with. Our natural response to "SEC's overrated!" was "what about the Mountain West?" (ASU lost to UNLV last week in overtime after leading 20-7), while we haven't lost this year. We invaded Tempe and their campus. I've been attending Sun Devils games every year since I've moved out here and I have NEVER seen this amount of away fans, even in the annual ASU/U of A rivalry game. My voice is still hoarse from the game Saturday night. I got to see Uga VII, Coach Richt and Knowshon for the first time ever. And Knowshon was flat out awesome to see. This was my first game since 2000 when I saw my Dawgs beat Eli and the Rebels in Athens. This was the best day ever. (I'm not married nor do I have children)
Also, a little background, out here in PAC-10 country they seem to consider themselves the greatest conference in NCAA. God only knows why. So, when it comes to college football for me it is UGA first and SEC second. In all out of conference games I'm cheering for the SEC team, even Florida and Tennessee. This was vindication for me against all of these less than knowledgable ASU/PAC10 fans.
