A record shop by my house has a slightly different poster withthe SAME color scheme. It is at LEAST 8 feet tall. I want it SO bad. I don't even know if its for sale.

Something should be done with this color scheme. Ideas anyone?

I've read in a few different places that this was the original color scheme for Batman in the comic books.
I've also read that Batman would have originally had a mask more like Robin's, the domino mask style.

YES!
Kane originally had him in the red suit, with a cape and domino style mask. Bill Finger is the one who suggested adding the bat motifs we are more familiar with.
Man though........that poster is burning my retinas!
(but it sure would be nice to have!)

I remember reading about the color scheme first in a newspaper article like 20 years ago, and then I read about it again in an issue of Alter Ego a few years back. The Alter Ego even showed an older Flash Gordon issue (IIRC), that Kane may have swiped the pose for Batman's first cover appearance from. They did a concept drawing of a Bat-Man with a red union suit, black cape, trunks and boots, and the black mask I mentioned earlier, in the same scene as the cover of Detective #26. For the life of me, I haven't been able to find where I put that issue.

Well, actually that is the current Robin's color scheme. That hadn't occured to me until just now in fact. He just has a yellow inside lining to his cape.
