What comics made in the last 5 years or so do you anticipate being remembered 20 years from now?

Anything approaching the critical acclaim-two decades later- of Watchmen or DKR? or even a step below, say recent times Dark Phoenix or Kraven's Last Hunt-20 yrs from now?

or popular, albeit not critical, favorites that will still be endlessly reprinted like Secret Wars? or riffed on like Crisis?

or little known things now that will grow in stature 20 years from now?

or classic runs like Stern Avengers?

In other words, 20 years from now, 30 yrs from now, what will old comic fans remember, and new comic fans read from this (more or less) time period? With the idea that most things are forgotten

Im sorry if that didn't make any sense :)

Yes, All-Star Superman, I agree with the others on that too. Really though, any quality books that aren't bogged down in continuity and crossover hell have a good chance of being remembered and read 20 years down the road. With todays books, that severely limits your options. :)

The Twelve if it ends well
JMS's Thor-if it wraps up well :)

Civil War will be reprinted like Secret Wars. WWH will be forgotten, as will House of M.

Ultimates 1

Captain America (bru)

Sinestro War

Waid's FF

Millar's Wolverine

Invincible Iron Man is promising

Agents of Atlas will be a diamond found years from now

Annhiliation will be rediscovered.

I was going to toot the Agents of Atlas horn, but didn't think anyone remembered it. Well done Rob!

Y the last man by BKV is a modern day classic that stands on its own and will be read and reread for ages (like Sandman and Preacher).

Bru's run on Cap is a seminal one that will be remembered in the same league as Byrne's FF or Simonson's Thor...

Bru's Criminal is also shaping up to be a timeless crime classic.

I wonder about RASL, the new title by Bone-guy. It's too early to tell, because it's too early to tell what the heck it's even about.

Oh yeah, Bone of course.

Geoff John's current Superman run is the best the series has been... well, ever I think. If he can keep it up it will be held as a high point.

I think these past few years have been good to the industry. There has been a lot of quality. That being said, if I had to really choose.

The one series that will be up there with Watchmen and DKR is All-Star Superman.

The other series that will be a bit of a step below like Kingdom Come or Marvels is New Frontier.

And the run that will be spoken of in the same whispered breaths like CC/Byrne X-Men and Miller's Daredevil is Brubaker's Captain America.

There should be more comics written by Grant Morrison and Ed Brubaker. And someone should clone Cooke.

I read Agents of Atlas. It is a fun one. I'm really glad they're finally going to do an ongoing, since the mini was so obviously screaming for further stories to be told.

I'm still waiting for an Agents of Atlas TPB (not a fan of overpriced hardcovers)!
