I couldn't really consider Gibbons and Watchmen because he's the only artist who ever drew them.

Anyway, I pick Adams on Batman.

Kirby wins this one... Although I can't imagine Watchnmen with any other artist, but it is a stand alone which makes it a very different animal than the rest here.

Boy, as much as I want to say George Pérez on the Titans, and as obvious as Jack Kirby on FF is, I've got to go with Neal Adams on Batman.

I was hoping for Cockrum on X-Men.

Kirby on FF it is.

My DNA won't allow me to vote for anyone other than Swan on Superman.

... but I will say that Jim Aparo's casual assignment to one issue of Brave & the Bold was one of the greatest things to happen to comics.

He also drew the Big Red S in an issue of Batman & the Outsiders...... :ohyes:

Aparo was the first to draw the pissed off Superman.

(He drew pretty much everyone looking like they were pissed.)

pissed = angry (not drunk)

Aparo drew Superman in B&B #150 (uh oh, just spoiled the "mystery guest star") and on a bunch of great World's Finest covers when it was a dollar anthology. Loved his Captain Marvel on those covers too - I was always bummed Cap never appeared as a guest star in B&B...

That's really odd that they never did that. I could see Haney not having much to do with Cap (he preferred bruisers like Wildcat and Sgt. Rock), but after he left you'd think they would've done it.

Aparo would've drawn a kick-ass old wizard Shazam. And an awesomely Elvisy Captain Marvel Junior.

You know I would've loved to see Aparo draw Captain America.

I strongly agree with all of the above.

I don't know if it would be considered his most famous work, but Al Williamson on Flash Gordon.

Neal Adams drew the best looking Batman!

That would have been cool. I looked around on the Net to see if he ever did such a sketch, but couldn't find one. I did find a couple of other characters that he wasn't really known for.

I do remember seeing some commissions of Captain America and Scarlet Witch that Aparo did in pencil late in his life, but damned if I can find them now.

Infantino owned The Flash.
Everything Flash after Carmine's first run pales by comparison.
