Okay, we all know that everyone here has their own favorite here-- I love Superman, Mark is all about the Flash, Linda likes Batgirl, Chris likes Badrock. I get it. But these two guys come up so much that I have to wonder which of the two is more popular 'round these parts...

Batman was my first and will always be my favorite.

Batman easily wins this one.

This is up there with Ditko/Romita as favorite Spidey artist. Maybe even MORE difficult. Batman though, because without him I would probably have never been a superhero comic fan.

Spidey: My Uncle was killed when I was a teenager!

Batman: My PARENTS were killed IN FRONT OF ME when I was TEN

Spidey: My girlfriend is a model

Batman: I bang a different model every night

Spidey: I have a Spider-Mobile!

Batman: (stifles laugh)

Spidey: My arch enemy is a cackling green guy

Spidey: I have powers!

Batman: I have money.

Spider-Man. And that's despite never having a story anywhere near as great as Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, or Year 100 (though Kraven's Last Hunt is up there, it's a far better Kraven story than it is a Spider-Man story).

But for the sake of this poll, Batman, historically. But reading the first 100 issues of Spider-man, I realize how awesome the character, and the writing, and the breathtaking art that JRSR produced was.

Kind of a hard choice to make, but I'd have to say Bats.

Spider-Man is the perfect character with great villains and a great supporting cast, great costume(s), etc. He's just the best ever created.

In all honesty, I'd much rather have powers than money. There are thousands of millionaires, but no one with superpowers.

Other stuff kind of doesn't make sense; Batman doesn't bang a different model every night, he's out fighting crime and only does it occasionally. Why would Spider-Man need a Batmobile anyway? His mode of transportation is more fun and efficient. Despite both "cackling", I'd say the Green Goblin and the Joker are fairly different.

I know this was mostly humor based, but most of these just don't hold up. I voted Batman, but would still rather be Spider-Man. I could just make tons of dough in sports or whatever.

I think that you're missing the point.

Spider-Man is NOT about "the cool guy who has money and a cool car and bangs super models" (Yeah, I know that Mary Jane is a model, but to me, that was a serious misstep.). Spider-Man is the guy you can actually relate to. Batman may be cooler and have better toys and all the answers and yadda yadda, but to me, that just makes him a LESS interesting character!
