How many times will Doom get his butt handed to him before he realises that maybe he's NOT the smartest man in the world?

I've always wondered about Marvel geniuses vs Marvel super-geniuses...
Tony Stark, Reed Richards and Dr Doom have made stuff on a regular basis that is just as advanced as the stuff supposedly superhuman geniuses like MODOK and the Leader have made. The latter guys have huge brains augmented by mutation and bionics. Would it therefore be accurate to say Stark, Reed and Doom also have superhuman intelligence, despite having relatively normal human brains? Always wondered about that.

How many times with Uatu break his non-interference oath before he realizes that maybe being a Watcher is not the ideal job for him?

I always kind of assume that the augmented brainy types still have the dumbo mind set they had before they were augmented. In otherwords they have huge mental capacity but not that certain something that the not augmented types do.

That's actually part of the Leader's back story--he has tremendous intelligence but is still a basically immature type who keeps undermining his own efforts. To put it into today's psychological speak, the average super intelligent megalomaniac has a low EQ--emotional quotient. Bobby Fisher was a notable real-life example. In the Marvel or DC worlds he would surely have become a supervillain.

That he just expands the needed portions of his brain to get the specific job done? Though I think that lessens him as a character. It's much cooler if he would've been that smart, accident or no accident.

I recall seeing Reed do something in Earth-X, where he altered his brain to resemble that of Professor Xavier's, so he could use Cerebro. I thought it was interesting, as I'd never considered the fact that he could use his stretching/shape changing power in that way.

I kinda liked it, cause he was a super genius before (he built the Fantasticar at 11 before the accident), but now he's a super super genius. It was explained that along with his body being able to contort, so was his mind, allowing him to think in ways most others couldn't. It kinda worked for me.
