Quote: On February 28, 2006 from 7 AM to 2 PM IHOPs across the country will celebrate National Pancake Day (also known as Shrove Tuesday) by offering our guests a free short stack of pancakes*. This is going to be our biggest one day celebration in our history.
National Pancake Day has a rich history that stretches back centuries and has always been a time of celebration. National Pancake Day always falls on Fat Tuesday and this year it will be a celebration at IHOP.
So gather your friends, family and neighbors and come to your local IHOP and enjoy a short stack of pancakes on us. All we ask is that you consider making a donation to a great charity like First Book or other local, worthy cause. Where else would you celebrate National Pancake Day than IHOP? See you there.
* Limit one free short stack per guest. Valid for dine-in only, no to go orders. Not valid with any other offer, special, coupon, or discount. Valid at participating restaurants only, while supplies last.

No pancake all you can eat throttling, ala Netflix. Ooooh... sounds good. Now... how can I make myself hungry to really work this?

Hmmm, I'm going to have to agree with Mitch Hedberg on the pancakes ...
"As a comedian, you have to start the show strong and end the show strong. Those are the two key elements. You can’t be like pancakes: all exciting at first, but by the end you’re f****** sick of em."
I rarely make it through my stack o' cakes, but the rest of you enjoy!

The ihop in Burbank used a different recipe during the All-You-Can-Eat promo about 4 years ago. Smaller, not as tasty and super absorbant. Also, after my second plate of 2 pancakes (the ad said each stack had 3) the waitress took 15 minutes after I requested another stack. I left after eating only 7 small pancake flavored sponges.

I would hope the International House of Pancakes was international.

When I make 'em, I add pumpkin pie spice to the mix. YUM!!
I don't even know if WANnipeg has an IHOP. Lots of Smitty's, Old Pancake House's, Perkins', stuff like that though.
IHOP is only in British Columbia:

lemmee guess - you are one of those folks who thinks that everyone in North and South America should all call themselves Americans too, eh?
(kidding, kidding. I have encountered Americans who are dumbfounded as to why Canadians, Mexicans, Aztecs and such might get a bit upset at the suggestion, though... Manifest Destiny, and all that Really, Yanks, I loves ya!)

You know, it's strange. To you and to the Brits we're Yankees, and when you say it, it sounds right. But if someone from the northern USA called us Yankees it would be completely wrong. Weird.

I think perhaps my intent was lost in the English to English translation. I was saying that I would hope that something calling itself international would have an outlet in Canada. Which they do. Just not by you.

But, I've never heard a Brit call me a Yankee. A Yank, yes, but they don't waste the syllable.
On the other hand, because I don't talk with a Southern drawl, I have been called a Yankee. And I've never lived in a Northern state.
I live in the Rocky MountWAN region.

I correct people down here (the South) when they call me a Yankee. I'm a Northerner from the Midwest (Ohio). Yankees live east of there.

Yep, I'd never be a Yankee in the US of A. Abroad, sure, but when I'm here I'm either a Midwesterner, a Detroiter, or a Michigander. How long do I have before I become a Californian I wonder? It's been almost 6 years fer god's sake.

My only problem is I can't figure out if I'm a Coloradoan or a Coloradan.
And what do you call a non-Mormon from Utah?
