Sorry for the delay-8 hour fantasy baseball draft (NL only) today. Torture as always (especially the minor league draft), but fun too. And, we get together-no online draft for us! Anyway, a new R.E.M. album "Accelerate" this past week, and one that at least shows they're not washed up just yet. I think I'm actually going to see them in Philly in June since I enjoyed this album more than I thought I would and it's the first one I've bought by R.E.M. since 1994 (the hideous "Monster" album). My top 5:
1. Pretty Persuasion 2. Drive 3. Superman 4. Losing My Religion 5. It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
Yes, I could've had many more, but I'm sticking to 5 this time!

Does 'Superman' count, seeing as it's a cover? A very good cover, though.
In no particular order, and straight off the top of my head:
Perfect Circle World Leader Pretend Country Feedback* Walk Unafraid* Cuyahoga
Tricky choice - I could easily have listed 15-20 more which I rate every bit as highly as the ones I went with.
*Based entirely on various live versions, rather than the slightly-underwhelming studio cuts.

Yeah, I thought about it, but Iove their version so much and I played to death in high school, that to me it's an R.E.M. song anyway, especially as virtually nobody knows who did the original (we do, but I mean the average person), and they own that song! If I had to slip in a replacement, it would be The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight, but I'm sticking with Superman for now!

ICErs My top 5: 1 - Country Feedback 2 - Fall on me 3 - These days 4 - Find the river 5 - You're in the air (mainly because I think the under appreciated 'Up' deserves a nod) In all honesty though, ANYTHING from 'Murmur' could take a place in that top 5. It just works for me as a perfect album & therefore I wouldn't "separate" the tracks on it. Losing my religion would probably feature too if not for over play in the last 15 years

Love seeing Driver 8 on so many lists! Probably my favourite REM song.
