This morning as I was out walking I met a young man walking a dog. The dog ran over to me and tried to sniff me. He pulled on the dog's leash and called the dog away. The dog's name was Scooby! He wasn't any Great Dane, though. This Scooby was one of those long-haired mutts that looks like the head of a mop.

Probably just as well that a Great Dane wasn't interested in sniffing you.

Dogs really seem to like me. I'm followed by them so often I feel like a canine pied piper. Just this morning two of them followed me while I was walking in the park. I had to shoo them off before I reached a busy street on my way back. Being followed doesn't bother me, but I'm always afraid they'll get themselves hurt if I go some place where there's traffic.

Maybe you should stop storing beef jerky in your pockets...

I guess they just know a dog lover when they see one. I've had as many as four following me at one time.
