I'm re-reading Peter David's New Frontier series of books, from the beginning. I'm remembering now why I loved it so much. I never bought the newest book, but I will after I get caught up again.

I also never bought the short-story collection, with different authors. Is it worth it?

It's a great collection! My favorite is the Zak Kebron story. It's called "Waiting for G'Doh, or, How I Learned to Stop Moving and Hate People." :)

I tried it out, early on. I wasn't crazy about it.

Should I try again?

If it didn't grab you the first time, probably not.

That's what I was thinking.

How far in did you get? Just the first four mini-novels?

The first one, and then a later crossover with TNG.

Neither grabbed me at all.

I'd suggest at least trying the first four as they're short - and you can get them as one big book. If you're not hooked by then, I can't help you.

BTW, The Walking Dead. That's my next comic book recommendation. Like Fables, the first trade is kind of blah, though.

Absolutely LOVING The Walking Dead. For those of you that hate Zombies, read this book anyway. Trust me.
