I'm trying to locate a Batman (possible Detective) comic from my youth (late 70s - early 80s). I don't remember the main story, but the backup Robin story had him fighting a cult. IIRC, the cult leader was picking up hitch-hikers in order to sacrifice them.

Sounds more like it's from the 70s; Robin backup stories were common then, but had disappeared by the time of the "New Teen Titans" book in 1980. Do you have any more info, such as what the cover looked like?

You're not referring to the graphic novel series "The Cult" by any chance? The only thing is it was Batman and Robin and not just Robin.

Good series, BTW.

Sounds like it could have been one of those stories in an issue of Batman Family or some other such title.

And Sisko provides no help in this matter at all.

Sisko reads minds!

No, seriously - I know it's not The Cult (excellent read, BTW). I'm fairly certain that it wasn't a Batman Family. I can see the art in my head. Very dark, Gene Colan-ish stuff.

Are you sure it wasn't one of the Robin stories in Batman?

Robin was a Detective back-up during 1970, but was bumped to Batman when Batgirl took over the Detective back-up feature.

It's possible - time frame is a little off, since I wasn't born til 1972 - could've read it in a reprint, I guess.

Was going through and re-reading old posts I'd made and found this. I just wanted to let you guys know I recently found it. I know you were probably all worried about it, and I felt like I needed to clear that from your minds.

You're welcome.

Swanderson was wrong. Thanks for playing.
It was a mid 80's backup in Batman and Detective. I forget the exact issue numbers, but it was in the 340s of Batman and 520s of Detective.
