I Really like Jesse. He started with a fantastic rockabily band caled the Road Kings and then morfed into a cool Alt country singer/songwriter.

I am not familar with Brennen Leigh. Who does she sound like? Anyone have any good info on her?

Thanks

Rich

Here's the promotional "trailer" for the album:

Here's her website:

http://www.brennenleigh.com

In just a few years, Leigh, alongside brother Seth Hulbert, has firmly established herself as one of the Lone Star State's premiere singers and songwriters. With her third full-length effort, Devil's on My Trail, Leigh is poised to take her time-honored, country-tinged sound to a whole new level. Leigh's approach is both astoundingly simple and wonderfully complex. Her sound is an intoxicating blend of raw talent, wily wit and bittersweet heartbreak, all touched by an affecting, uncommon grace.

She's put out a few relatively obscure albums in the alt-country/gospel vein, all are out of print but are available from some of Amazon's third party dealers:

Her website also lists the two most recent albums as available for purchase directly, but I suspect those are CD-Rs.

(She's very good ... reminds me somewhat of the approach taken by Maria McKee on her earlier recordings.)

"Lonesome, Wild and Blue" is a great album, and good luck finding a cheap copy. MyTexasMusic may still have copies for sale, and CD Baby has had it listed, but often on back-order. I've been in hunt of her "Too Thin to Plow" album but don't want to pay an outrageously high price for it. Brennen has a sure-fire sweet voice and I'm looking forward to the duets album.

All and Linda,

Thanks for the extra info on her. I will give it all a listen.
