Uncle Rog,

Do most professional Comic book talents from your era keep in touch? Would you say that the Marvel employees from those years are especially close? The reason for my curiosity is that as a youngster reading comics in the 70s & 80s Marvel seemed to be a exciting place to work with quite a few "real" characters to go with the fictional ones. By contrast, the writers & artists of today ( and most of the 90s) seem a little boring.

Any thoughts you have on this subject would be interesting! Thanks for spending time here with us by the way!

Since we scattered to the winds -- with the advent of Express Mail, then FedEx, then faxes, then email -- those of us who don't have offices to go to don't see each other as often as we once did.

I'll be the first to admit that I've fallen out of touch with a lot of people...though email makes it easier to re-establish contact.

That's what makes MidOhioCon so much fun, I get to see people that I've missed, and -- unlike with San Diego -- we usually can find time to get together and trade old war stories.

Speaking of MidOhioCon, someone asked me about the Charlton Portfolios recently, and I said I'd ask if you could bring some this year, and I'd get them one. How bout it? The Stern portfolio would probably be a seller too. Still have some?

Still have some of both, Dave. I've started trying to decide what to bring along to MidOhioCon...I have multiples of most of my work over the past 20 years, at least, but space will be at a premium.

Who all here is going, and what would they be interested in getting from me?

Hmmm, I am on vacation that weekend...and never been to a con yet. I'll have to see how pinched our finances are heading into the holidays though. I would love to meet Roger, and any IMWANkers who are going. I have a Cap trade it'd be nice to have signed, among other things. ;) Goes without saying that should I pull it off I'd be interested in anything you had there, Uncle Rog.
