Folks in the South (U.S.) get this right. Why can't the rest of the country?

Iced tea should be real brewed, and sweet. No lemon. No rasberry. No unsweetened.

Sweet freakin' tea. That's just how it is and how it should always be.

I will admit that up here we don't tend to have the actual brewed iced tea. It's more like kool-aid.

Having said that, it is very sweet. And I way prefer it to the brewed stuff.

That's just how I roll.

Mmmmm. Sun-brewed tea is excellent.

You know, I think I need to make a jug o' that when I get home.

I agree with Taft for the most part here, with exception to the "no lemon" mandate. Slices of fresh lemon are especially good in tea, I find.

Victoria loves real brewed ice tea.

Consequently, I love finding restaurants that actually serve the stuff, so I can take her there.

...

I'll sit and have an orange juice or something, but she's happy :D

Science says you're wrong. Unsweetened is the only correct way to have tea, you might as well drink sugar water. If you feel the need to sprinkle sugar all over tea to make it yours, perhaps it's time for you to move on to another beverage.

Sun-brewed and unsweetened.

But, if you are going to have it sweetened, it needs to be the sweet tea of the south, where you put the sugar in while heating the tea. Then the sugar disolves.

Closer to the bland midwest (northern KY, unlike the rest of the state, is more like "southern Ohio", really). We eat goetta and Greek chili, and have an unnatural fascination with flying pigs.

In Texas - unsweetened rules.

Texas isn't the South, though. It's another country.

No sugar, sugar. Sun-brewed, unsweet, cold as the Devil's heart. And Texas has special priveleges to be part of whatever it wants. So, when it WANTS to be in the South? It is.

No, Texas should be it's own country. Not part of the US. Go away.

dOOd, you don't know what you're missing. Iced tea is AWESOME.

I have me some tea U.K. style on a daily basis, so it's not as if I'm not a lover. But iced tea is just as excellent. Iced tea, man, It's great!
