Need a little help, people. While checking the archives, I was reviewing the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. files, and noticed several references to a comic that came out in the mid-eighties. Or, at least, it was supposed to.
Tales of T.H.U.N.D.E.R. is listed in my ancient copy of the Overstreet price guide, but I've never seen a copy available for sale, nor have I ever seen one listed on eBay.
It was supposed to be released from either David Singer's Deluxe Comics, or John Carbonarro's line of comics. All I'm looking for is confirmation either way.
Anyone with any information is entitled to a HUGE reward, to be determined at a later date.

Every listing of the appearances of the THUNDER Agents that I've found includes only the following. Tower Comics (1965-1969) T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS #1- #20 DYNAMO #1- #4 NOMAN #1- #2 U.N.D.E.R.S.E.A. AGENT #1- #6 JC Comics (1983) T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS #1- #2 HALL OF FAME featuring the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS #1- #3 (Reprint Book) Red Circle (1983) BLUE RIBBON COMICS #12 Deluxe Comics (1984-1986) Wally Wood's T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS #1- #5 Penthouse Comics (1995) OMNI COMICS #3 However, I've found some references to a series that was going to be published by Solson in the 1980s, with Carbonaro's permission. There's some information on it from one of the creators here.

Tales of THUNDER was announced by Deluxe, but never published. I've never seen or heard of anyone seeing any of the material prepared for it. However, at home, I have the THUNDER Agents Companion, and I'll try to double check that tonight for any additional info.

Indeed, Solson published the one-shot (it was supposed to be a series) THUNDER (with no initials). It dealt with some future generations taking over the roles of the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, in a near-distant future where there was more calamity than during the Red Scare and a slighty disturbed, HAL-9000-like NoMan.
Thanks for all the help, fellas.

The THUNDER Agents Companion notes that although Tales of THUNDER is mentioned in Overstreet, there is no other evidence of its existence.
Sorry.

I saw it mentioned, too, in an article, but only in passing. I think its safe to say it never made it....does anyone have a more recent Overstreet? I wonder if its still listed...

Regarding Thunder Agents, I agree with Kurt Busiek (from newsarama) http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/20 ... of-thunderI agree with Kurt and this is one of my all time pet peeves. If you're going to change a concept so much, why not just create something new, whether its movies, comics whatever. One problem I have is the integration into the DC universe. To me this kills a huge part of the appeal of the concept and with the multi-verse back, why not give them their own world and have a setting where there isn't a million other heroes. As for a fresh start, what I would do is acknowledge that the original agents were around in the 60s and now we have new agents wearing the suits. This way you have a fresh start without spitting on the past.

In Britian, Alan Class comics (a reprint company) published the occasional Thunder agents story for comic hungry fans such as myself. I loved the tales of Dynamo and No-Man et al. They were fun stories and it did not matter what issue you had the stories were always complete in one efforts. I would love to buy all those stories up in TPB format. The archives are nice but in the UK the price is way, way of of my league.

Thank your lucky stars. At one point, Rob Liefeld had purchased the rights to do a new THUNDER Agents comic and even drew up some ads that were printed in various comics.
Luckily, he was too busy with legal problems and ADHD to follow through.

I remember seeing two of the Deluxe Comics issues.

I bought all 5 of the Deluxe Comics issues. 4 of them had George Perez covers, one had Jerry Ordway inking someone. It was an easy decision for me to get them back then.
