I'm going to show you guys what she just posted on another forum I frequent. I know someone here will know the solution.....
So, this copy of A Ghost Is Born that I just bought on Thursday night, when I play it in my stereo at like...volume level10 or lower, makes this really high-pitched kind of whirring noise that kind of sounds like it's maybe the sound of the CD spinning? Anyway. My Speaking for Trees CD did the same thing, and I resurfaced it with the trusty Skip Dr. a couple of times and now it plays fine no matter how quiet (at least it did last time I played it), but that's not working with this Wilco disc. Annnnnd like, only certain CDs of mine do this. And I was wondering if anyone knew wtf the problem could be.
Someone else told her that both cds are silver with no writing at all on top and for some reason that could be causing her problem. He advised her to copy the discs onto blank cds and play those. At this point, she doesn't want to do that. She wants to solve the problem if possible
